Public records and other complaints

Our experience is one job. Here’s what anyone can find in public records, summarized in our own words with links so you can read the originals.

Who owns Seatown

As of October 2026, Seatown’s Yelp business description called it locally owned and operated, but it’s actually owned by private equity. Business databases list Seatown as acquired by Service Champions in June 2023. Service Champions is now Champions Group, an Irvine, California company that has been acquiring home services businesses in several states. The private equity firm Odyssey Investment Partners has owned Champions Group since 2021. In February 2026, Blackstone announced an agreement to acquire it, with Odyssey keeping a significant minority stake, in a deal Bloomberg reported at about $2.5 billion.

Seatown’s Washington general contractor registration lists an Irvine, California address, the same as Champions Group’s headquarters.

Private-equity ownership isn’t wrong in itself. We think buyers should know it, because it shapes pricing, sales targets, and who you’re really negotiating with when something goes wrong.

BBB record

As of October 4, 2026, Seatown Electric Heating and Air LLC is BBB accredited with an A+ rating. Its BBB page shows 7 complaints in the last three years and 22 customer reviews averaging 3 out of 5 stars. BBB letter grades weigh factors like complaint response, time in business and licensing. They aren’t a customer-satisfaction score, so read the complaints themselves.

“Permanent” sewer fix fails beyond the lined section

Filed May 2026Status: answered

A homeowner paid about $10,000 in 2024 for a sewer relining sold as a permanent fix. In 2026 the line failed less than 10 feet past the lined section, still on their property. They were quoted $26,500 for the new repair. Seatown said it lined the 57 feet in the contract and offered a $5,000 discount. The customer rejected the response.

Sewer work begun without a permit, the customer says

Filed Apr 2026Status: answered

A homeowner said excavation and side-sewer work started before a city permit was in place, and raised concerns about materials and pricing. Seatown said its materials met code, that inspection and permit closure are part of completing a project, and that it wasn’t allowed to finish because the customer hired another contractor. No refund was issued.

Contact continued after asking to stop

Filed Jan 2026Status: answered

A homeowner who chose not to hire Seatown over price said calls, texts and emails continued after they asked to stop. Seatown said there had been no contact since early December. The customer said there had been.

EV charger install: siding damage and a failed inspection

Filed Nov 2025Status: resolved

A homeowner reported siding damage from a charger install, temporary patches, slow follow-up, and a failed city inspection. The complaint was marked resolved about three months after filing, after Seatown agreed to reimburse $1,225.

Furnace vent pipe and water damage

Filed Oct 2024Status: answered

A homeowner blamed an attic furnace install for water damage after a freeze. Seatown first said it would cover the repairs. After an inspection with a third-party contractor, it said it had handled its share and attributed the rest to pre-existing roof and chimney damage. The customer disputed this and said they were consulting an attorney.

Other review sites

Seatown’s ratings on lead-generation sites are high. HomeAdvisor shows about 4.8 out of 5. A high average can hide patterns, so sort by lowest rating and look for problems that match your situation, such as pricing after a tune-up, financing, or permits.
